Kamilah Kashanie

Kamilah (she/her) is an Associate Producer at StoryCorps, the national oral history project, and the host of the StoryCorps podcast from NPR. She graduated from the Transom Audio Storytelling Workshop in 2019. Kamilah’s love for radio blossomed out of a desire to understand more about what makes us who we are. As a storyteller, she’s committed to starting conversations to make lasting changes in underserved communities.

Kamilah and her older sister both got their first periods at the same time — even though they’re seven years apart.

MIA
WARREN

Mia (she/her) is an independent audio producer living in Brooklyn, NY. Previously, Mia was an Editing Fellow for Feet in 2 Worlds, an organization that's brought the work of immigrant journalists to public media since 2003. She's produced podcasts with the Mash-Up Americans and spent five years making radio at StoryCorps, the national oral history project. Mia got her start in audio storytelling in Lima, Peru, where she documented stories in the Japanese Peruvian community on a Fulbright fellowship.

Mia recently started using period underwear and loves it.

JULEYKA
LANTIGUA

Juleyka (she/her) founded the digital media studio LWC Studios to center stories and storytellers from the margins. So far, the network has launched four original shows and garnered awards for its work. They’ve also established themselves on the commercial side with clients that include Marvel Entertainment, Macmillan Podcasts, NPR affiliates KQED and WHYY, and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

She is happy she’s been a late bloomer all her life.
